Graduation Announcement

A graduation announcement is usually made by the institution that will be hosting the graduating students. The institution is usually proud to make a graduation announcement since it proves that the students did learn and are qualified to be awarded their certifications. Once the graduation announcement has been made, it is up to the management to ensure that everything is in order and organized in good time, to ensure everything is in place. A graduation ceremony is a big occasion to the institution thus; it will usually require spending substantial amounts of money in organizing and sending the graduation invitations to honorary guests

Celebrity Fashions For The Average Woman

Friday, November 14th, 2008

It’s never ending Jessica Simpson totes a Vuitton bag, Courtney Cox is seen in Instyle wearing a beautiful Prada dress, Hilary Swank heads down the runway wearing Calvin Klein. If that’s not enough Paris Hilton arrives on the scene with Chanel sunglasses while Jennifer Lopez is seen with Fendi.

Whether it’s Versace, Chanel, Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, Calvin Klein, Prada or Fendi, how the heck is the average woman going to be able to stay in style like the stars.

Let’s face it. Although we dream about owning that beautiful Vuitton handbag or that Prada dress. For most of us that’s about as far as it goes. Most of these items start in the mid hundreds of dollars and easily climb to a value of over $5000, for just one piece.

For the stars there is no worry about saving to buy those designer items. For them price is no object as they freely dole it out for what ever their heart desires.

But it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out most of us will never own these items. So what do we do? Well that’s easy.

You and I buy items that look a lot like the designer items. Many call these knock offs and that they are but please realize there are licensed copies and then there are copies that infringe on copyrights.

We do not condone any company that infringes on copyrights. We do however encourage you to shop for items that made similar to the items we see the stars wearing. It’s the only way we an look like a million bucks on our shoe string budgets.

As you flip through this months Vogue or Instyle you are going to see some wonderful fashions that you are just going to have to have for the fall. Don’t worry within the next few weeks similar styles will be arriving at a boutique or Walmart near year. You can look as good as the stars for a fraction of the cost.

After all are your friends of co-workers going to notice your purse isn’t quite the same shape or fabric. Are they going to notice that the dress has a slightly different cut neck or length. I think not. You’ll be close enough for most to think you’ve suddenly got designer taste.

So what are you waiting for? It’s going to be a hot fashion season and you are going to be a fashion goddess this season with some savvy shopping.

Bras – A Guide For Single Fathers

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Bras have been around in one form or another since the ancient Greeks. They were originally designed to support the breasts for the woman’s comfort, but now they come in various designs to provide breast shaping. Breast shaping bras include cleavage enhancing bras or push up bras.

Even as recently as 35 years ago nuns forbade girls attending Catholic schools from wearing bras, instead they had to use strips of material tied tightly around the breasts to try to make them smaller! Nowadays, even nuns wear bras.

Bras come in all shapes and sizes; from tiny soft bras for girls of 10 to very supportive under-wired bras designed for the fuller figure.

Did you know that 90% of women find their bras to be uncomfortable? This may be because research has shown that a similar percentage have poorly fitting bras, because they have never been properly measured.

Bras come in a very wide range of designs. Large breasted women find it difficult to buy attractive and feminine bras because manufacturers have been slow to provide a wide range of bras for this market.

Many sexy bra designs are primarily designed to be attractive to men. You can now buy translucent and transparent bras, wet-look bras and bras that are hardly there at all. Peephole bras allow the nipples to stick out.

Bra design has also changed to accommodate strapless and backless dresses and tops. After all it is pointless buying a low cut evening gown, with no back, and then spoiling the appearance with bra straps on shoulders and back.

Sports bras are basically highly elasticised skimpy tops, with no seams to rub. They are designed to provide support and stop the breasts bouncing around during exercise. They come in the various degrees of support necessary for different activity levels.

Prom Themes Can Make Prom Dresses

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Prom time is here again and you are starting to search for the perfect dress. You’ve looked at the latest trends. You’ve searched the fashion magazines to see what the celebrities are wearing to their prom. You’ve consulted with your friends to see what ideas they have. Yet you are still in a rut. Why not use the prom theme to come up with the perfect dress?

You can use your prom theme to choose the color, cut, style or fabric of your dress. It can also help you choose accessories to complete your prom night look. There is no better way for you and your friends to look good together than to look as though the whole night was planned around you! It’s as though the fact that you were wearing a red dress with heart jewelry made them choose the theme of Love is In the Air where the room is bathed in hearts and different shades of red.

Let’s look at some possible examples of how you can make the prom theme and dress theme work together. Prom themes surrounding Cinderella and the Ball are always a popular theme. So, look for the glass slippers, slide on a tiara and wear a princess dress with a big skirt. We wouldn’t recommend dressing as the wicked stepsisters though.

Hollywood and the red carpet are hot themes right now. Don’t just look good, look like a movie star by recreating a hot celebrity look. Better yet, go vintage Hollywood. Hello Marilyn Monroe or Mae West. The paparazzi will be ready to take your picture and put you in the latest gossip column.

Music themes can be trickier, but think about what kind of mood they evoke. What colors are they using with the music them? Coordinate your dress with those colors. You don’t want to appear to clash with the room. For instance, you wouldn’t want to wear a purple dress if the prom theme colors are orange.

Your accessories can tie you to the theme as well. If the theme is “Night Under the Stars” wear a black dress and star earrings or a yellow broach to simulate the stars. If the theme is “By the Beach” wear seashells in your hair or decorate your bag with sea glass. It doesn’t necessarily have to be all about the theme, but sometimes being subtle is what gets you noticed.

So, as you make you final decisions about your prom outfit, it is important to keep the whole night in mind. It’s not just about what your friends are wearing or what the hottest celebrity trends are that matters. Your prom, the prom theme and prom outfit can be a complete package. Allow your prom theme to choose your prom dress.

History of Socks Timeline

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Believe it or not socks have been around since the stone ages. They were very different from socks as we know them today. They were often made of animal skins that were tied around the ankles.

In Ancient Egypt there is evidence of the existence of knitted socks and by the 8th century BC, the Greek poet Hesiod wrote of paloi – socks made of matted animal hair. They were mostly worn by actors in comedic plays.

During the Middle Ages colored cloth tied around the legs and held up with garters were in popular use. Garters were placed over the top of the sock/stocking to prevent them from falling down. They were mostly worn among the more wealthy.

In the 1490’s, breeches and hosiery were one piece. They later became known as tights. They were made of colorful silks, wools and velvet. Each leg was often a different color. At the turn of the fifteenth century knitted hose was being worn in France and Scotland.

In the 1590’s knitting machines were created. This made the use of knitted hose more common. With the wearing of tunics hose had to be made longer.

In the 17th century the use of cotton became popular in the making of socks. Early Americans also used wool and silk. Poorer people wore woolen hose usually tan in color. The rich on the other hand wore fine silk hosiery and more colors.

During the 19th century knitting mills allowed hose to be made in America. As men’s pants became longer stockings became shorter until the term was changed to sock and replaced the term stocking. The word sock is derived from the Latin word “soccus” which means light covering of the foot. Women to date wear stockings, tights, or socks.
